In partnership with the NHS and HM Prison and Probation Service, 2makeit is delighted to be part of this new project supporting men who have experienced the prison system and who are screened into the Personality Disorder Pathway.  One staff member at The Hub summed up the response so far.

We have expanded our Songbird songwriting project to include work in HMP Brixton and HMP Send to add to existing projects.

We have continued to deliver this project remotely in partnership with Pictora. The aim remains to celebrate the work of artists from different backgrounds without the label of 'offender', bringing out often hidden talent to be ‘Made Visible’.

Our work supporting individuals in the community has increased as pandemic restrictions have eased.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Lisa Smitherman as a trustee of 2makeit. Lisa is very well qualified and experienced in the field of criminal justice in the public sector and also with Catch22. She will provide valuable guidance to the governance of our charity at this most challenging time.

This is a songwriting project providing activities to guide the writing of lyrics by prisoners which are set to music by a 2makeit Music Makers.

With social enterprise partner, Pictora, 2makeit is continuing the successful 2019 project Made Visible in a remote and online version.

We are also continuing to support our vulnerable ex-prisoners and offender beneficiaries in the community in as many ways as possible under current restrictions, including, but not limited to, help via telephone and email contact, which includes advice on employment, benefits and housing, as well as providing creative activities.

Professor Simon Purcell of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama has joined 2makeit as Music and Creativity Adviser. Simon is a renowned performer and music educator and joins 2makeit at a perfect time as we develop new projects to respond to the challenges of the Covid-19 crisis and meet the needs of some of the most vulnerable people in society.
